Overview:
Working in international projects is engaging and relevant. Organisations come from different countries and cultures, so the English language as the language of international communication facilitates communication and collaboration among team members. For staff participating in international projects, social English will be particularly important as it is an efficient way to connect with team members of organisations coming from different countries. Using social English will help them feel comfortable in social settings such as team meetings or social gatherings. They will be enabled to build positive relationships which in turn leads to more self-confidence.
Objective:
The main objective of the course is to learn how to effectively engage in small talk, cultural awareness and active listening with people coming from different countries during social settings.

The course is aimed at project management staff in an international setting such as Erasmus+ projects.
Programme:
Day 1: Small talk
Introducing oneself and others, talking about your hobbies and interests, making small talk in social situations, understanding cultural differences in social communication.
Day 2: Communication
Understanding business etiquette, writing effective emails, making phone calls, leaving messages.
Day 3: Leisure activities
Reserving a table restaurants or cafés, ordering food and drinks, making plans for leisure activities and reservations, writing invitations to social events and accepting invitations, discussing travel plans.
